Robert Montgomery Sr.'s Obituary
Robert Montgomery Sr., age 80, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at Cedar Brook Rehabilitation Center. He was born on February 7, 1945, in New York, New York. He is the oldest of nine children and the adopted son of the late Moses and Virginia Montgomery.
Robert proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked for many years as a truck driver, a profession through which he exemplified hard work, dedication, and integrity.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Lorene Montgomery, and four children - Robert Jr., Songhai, Yolanda, and Juwana Montgomery. He leaves behind one sister and three brothers, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild, as well as nieces and nephews and the many cherished family members and friends whose lives he touched with kindness and strength.
A funeral service in Robert’s honor will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM, prior to the service.
Burial with Military Honors will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
