Robert "Paul" Mundt's Obituary
Robert “Paul” Mundt, 82, passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice in Leigh Acres on Monday, February 13, 2023.
Paul was born to Cecelia and William Mundt in Scranton, Pennsylvania on March 8, 1940. He graduated from Clifton High School in 1958 before serving his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War Era. Upon his honorable discharge, Paul met his wife Lynn, and started his 40+ year career as a maintenance machinist at Hoffman La Roche in Nutley, New Jersey.
Paul and Lynn married on September 18, 1965, and their family of two grew to a family of five with the births of his three loving daughters Michelle, Denise, and Joanna.
Through the years, Paul enjoyed gardening, collecting coins, baseball cards, and trains, bowling, shooting on the Hoffman LaRoche Pistol Team, wood whittling, working on his 1971 Chevy truck, watching old westerns, and camping with friends and family.
Paul and Lynn called Parsippany, New Jersey their home for over 50 years before heading to Florida to become full time residents.
Being a grandpa to seven grandchildren and one great grandchild brought Paul great pride and joy.
Paul is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lynn as well as his three daughters: Michelle Brauchle (Eric), Denise Dale (Chris), Joanna O'Neill (Ryan); his brother William Mundt (Betty); seven grandchildren, Tyler Brauchle (Jacqui), Jonathan Brauchle, Blake Dale, Lyndsay Brauchle, Brooke Dale, Archer O'Neill, and Addie O'Neill; one great grandchild, Willow Brauchle and many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. Paul was preceded in death by his father William Mundt and mother Cecelia Mundt.
Paul’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the dedicated staff of Hope Hospice. All services will be private. Memorial Donations are being accepted in Roberts's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
