Robert Kenneth Myers, 81, a beloved resident of Fort Myers, Florida, since 1988, formerly of Friedensburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on December 8, 1943, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania Robert was the cherished son of the late Robert and Violet (Dallago) Myers.
Robert's story was one of love, devotion, and an unshakable commitment to family. He met the love of his life, Colleen, on a blind date in 1972. Just six weeks later, they were married, beginning a beautiful journey filled with laughter, love, and precious memories. Robert's unwavering dedication to his family defined him as the epitome of a true Family Man. He found immense joy in simple pleasures, such as cars, trains, hunting, golfing and fishing—hobbies that brought him closer to nature and fueled his curiosity and passions.
In his professional life, Robert was an inspiration to all who knew him. Starting his career at Argo, a large manufacturer in the apparel industry, and working his way up to become Vice President and manager of the fledgling tech department, he later ventured into entrepreneurship, successfully owning Video 183, a VHS video rental store in the very early days of the at home video rental industry, a pool company in SWFL and a home watch group in SWFL. Known for his forward-thinking and innovative spirit, Robert was a dedicated and tireless worker whose vision often transcended his time, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
Robert's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy serves as a beacon of love, hard work, and dedication that will continue to inspire generations. He was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Bittle.
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Colleen Myers of Fort Myers, FL; five children, Holly Benson and her husband, Tim, Ted Myers and his wife, Cathy, Lori Myers, Jill Hubbert and her husband, Brian and Monica Koch and her husband, George; one sister, Janet Jones; 11 grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Ashton, Alexis, Anthony, Amanda, Sara, Kyle, Ryan, Abby and Alex; one great grandson, Ayden; as well as many extended family members and friends.
