Robert M. Perlstein's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Perlstein, age 91, died after a long illness at Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers, Florida. Bob was born in New York City in 1929 to Belle and Louis Perlstein. He graduated from Hobart College in 1951 and in 1953 married his childhood sweetheart, Judy Goldstein. After living in Japan during his military service as a special agent in the Counter-Intelligence Corps., the couple returned to Bergen County, New Jersey in 1955, where they raised two children, Jeffrey and Cathy. Before fully retiring, Judy and Bob cruised down the intracoastal waterway and purchased their first home in Sanibel in 1982. Bob was an avid player in the men's tennis leagues and served as Treasurer of the Southwest Florida Symphony. They were also members of Temple Bat Yam, the St. Charles Yacht Club, and various other island organizations.
Survivors include his two children and families: Jeffrey, Janet (Bashian), two sons Andrew and wife, Samantha and son Robert of Haworth New Jersey; and Cathy Chern and daughter Caroline.
