Robert John Petroski's Obituary
Robert John Petroski, 70, passed away at his residence in Ft. Myers, FL on December 22, 2021. Bob was born to Stanley and Nancy Petroski on September 14, 1951 in Rochester, PA. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School and graduated from Monaca High School in 1969.
After playing basketball and baseball in high school, Bob, “Pittsy”, earned a full scholarship to play basketball at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio where he graduated with an Accounting degree in 1973. After graduation, Bob began his career as a Federal Bank Examiner in Ohio and established a private tax service which he maintained through his retirement. Bob also spent time overseas in Tokyo, Japan and Shanghai, China as a Senior Supply Chain Manager.
In 1977, Bob married Holly Reeves and they had two children together, Jessop and Sara. Bob was a life-long Pittsburgh sports fan who loved his Steelers, Pirates and in his later years, the Penguins. His love for Pittsburgh teams was only exceeded by his passion for his alma mater, the Xavier Musketeers and his love for homemade pierogis.
Bob was predeceased by his father, mother, and second wife, Diane. He is survived by his son Jessop (Natsumi), daughter Sara (Jim) Caverly, his stepchildren Casey Abel and Heather Bogan-Collision, brother Paul (Cindy), sister Nell Rittle, his grandchildren – Akeli Petroski, Charlie Petroski, Samantha Caverly, Daniel Caverly, Christopher Caverly, Noella Abel, his companion Cindy Kansorka, as well as all of his loving nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service was held at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens.
A memorial mass to celebrate his life will be held in the summer of 2022.
