Mr. Robert Wilson Plym's Obituary
Born July 24, 1936, in Elmwood, Illinois, my sisters said a pig was caught under fence when I was born.
Moved to Lafayette, Illinois in 1938 and lived there until 1946. Went to school 4 1/2 grades, then moved to Williamsfield, Illinois. Went to a one room school with all eight grades in one room. Graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1954 at the age of 17.
Joined the navy on January 10, 1955, served till January 6, 1959. He was a second class fire control man working on weapons systems.
He married Henrietta Traenkner February 8, 1958. Lived in Marlton, N.J. They had 4 children, Richard Plym (Linda), Kevin Plym, Shirl Ellis (Richard) and Darryl Plym. He preceded death his wife of 58 years, and one granddaughter Christina. He has 6 grandchildren, including Justin and Roque.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Charlotte Hodge (Harry), Ruth Anderson (Dale) and his living sister Linda Kelly (Dick) of Wataga, Illinois.
He worked at the New York Shipyard in Camden. N.J. for 6 years. Then worked at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for 26 years, retiring in 1993. And moving to Lehigh Acres, Florida in 1993. He worked as fuel man for all major airlines at Southwest Regional Airport, which is now called Southwest International Airport.
After a few years retired fully to enjoy golfing and playing pool on a league.
He was a volunteer Fireman for Lenola Fire Co. in Moorestown, N.J. for 15 years, becoming a exempt fireman in the state of New Jersey. He also belonged to the Maple Shade, N.J. Legion, Post 66. He was a Mason in Palmyra, N.J. He also belongs to Lehigh Acres, Fl. Legion Post 323.
