Robert A. Quintal's Obituary
Robert A. Quintal, 88, longtime resident of Plainfield, CT and most recently of Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday April 5th, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Gerri with whom he shared 51 years of marriage and together raised 3 children. Born in Providence, RI he proudly served his country in the US Navy, serving in both WW 2 and the Korean War before opening The Quintal Insurance Agency with his wife in Plainfield in June of 1964. He is survived by his daughters, Lori Wong of Westminster, MA, Lynne and Jeff Hill of Sprague, CT and son Robert and Lisa Quintal of Boynton Beach, FL; his 6 cherished grandchildren, Aby, Alec, and Adam Wong, Josh and Jamie Hill, and Hannah Smith. Second to his family, he was extremely involved in his community. He was a lifelong member of the Lions Club, past president of the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce and served on numerous boards and organizations. A memorial viewing will be held Thursday 4-7 pm at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL with a Mass on Friday at 10:00 am at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, 8121 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Plainfield, CT In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, www.woundedwarriorproiect.org/donate. Memories can be shared on the guest book at www.fortmyersmemorial.com. Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is serving the family.
