Robert F. Steimel's Obituary
Robert F. Steimel of Fort Myers, Florida passed away suddenly on Monday, August 15, 2016. He was born on December 19, 1932 in New York, New York and was the proud son of Frances (Smith) and John Steimel. He was 83 years old at the time of his death.Robert was a Veteran of the U.S. Army who served during the Korean War. He spent the majority of his working life in the publishing business and rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Production for a company specializing in trade newspapers. He was married to and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann (Warnick) Steimel. He also leaves behind his sons Robert and wife Kathleen of Mineola, New York, Richard and wife Lisa of Wyckoff, New Jersey and Michael and his wife Mary of Elk Grove, California; grandchildren Robert, Aleshka, Emily, Annie, Corey, Sean and Daniel and his sister JoAnn Catania. Many nieces and nephews, a number of extended family members and countless friends also are disappointed by the sudden loss of his company. Sadly, he was predeceased by his son Gregory Steimel and grandson Patrick.A Memorial Service for Robert will be celebrated by Deacon Anthony F. DiLorenzo at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends will be received in the chapel for one hour preceding the service starting at 2:00 PM.
