Robert Daniel Waterman's Obituary
Robert Daniel Waterman of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away following a recent illness on Friday, August 29, 2014 with his loving family by his side. He was 82 years old.Mr. Waterman was born on May 16, 1932 in Dunkirk, New York, the proud son of Florence (Palmatier) and Frederick Waterman. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a High School English teacher for over 25 years at Iriquois Central School. He was the loving husband of Joanna (Menge) Waterman for 58 years. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his daughter Juliet Furnier of Commerce Township, Michigan; his son Charles Waterman of Kumamoto, Japan; grandchildren Madison and Dylan Melton; sisters Judith Waterman and Nancy Kelly and brothers Carl and Marvin Waterman. There are also numerous family members, many people who were proud to call him a friend and scores of former students he impacted in a positive way who are saddened by his death.A Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated for Robert at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church, 4005 Palm Drive (corner of RioVilla and Palm), Punta Gorda, Florida 33950, (941) 639-6309. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that you instead consider a donation to Faith Lutheran Church or Tidewell Hospice of Charlotte County in Robert’s memory.A Memorial Service will thereafter be celebrated on 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at St. Nicodemus Lutheran Church, 12029 Liberia Road, East Aurora, New York 14052, (716) 652-6611.
