Roberta Lynn Harsh's Obituary
Roberta Lynn Harsh, 79, of Fort Myers, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Formerly of Aurora, IL she had been a resident of Fort Myers since 1960.
Born on October 12, 1946, in Aurora, Illinois, Roberta was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Amber (Green) Murphy. She carried with her the strong Midwestern values of her upbringing throughout her life.
Roberta dedicated many years of her professional life to serving and protecting her community. She began her distinguished career in law enforcement as a police officer with the Fort Myers Police Department and later continued her service with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Following her time in active law enforcement, she brought her investigative skills and commitment to justice to the Lee County Public Defender’s Office, where she worked as an investigator. Her career reflected her strength, integrity, and unwavering dedication to fairness and public service.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Roberta was a gifted crafter who found great joy in sewing, knitting, crocheting, and scrapbooking. She lovingly created keepsakes and handmade treasures for her family and friends, each piece reflecting her creativity and generous spirit.
Roberta’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Harsh; her children, Heather and Kenny; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Richard (Janet) Murphy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister whose love and guidance will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Belinda; and son, Ricky.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. Burial will be private.
