Rodney Michael Vest, 58, of Fort Myers, FL and Shelby, North Carolina passed away on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Hope Hospice House in Fort Myers, Florida.?á Michael was born July 24, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio, a son of the late David Carroll Vest and Etta Evelyn Fraley Vest.?á Rodney was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fort Myers, FL.?á He was a beekeeper by trade. He was a lover of the outdoors and had a passion for music often expressing his feelings through drumming.?á He is survived by his children, Jason Vest of Shelby, NC, Heather (Tomothy) Whiteside of Columbus, OH, Amber Vest of Columbia, SC, Jennifer Barr of Greenville, NC, Kara (Benjamin) Hunter of Shelby, NC and Victoria (Christopher) Wheeler of Grifton, NC; his grandchildren, Anthony, Katrina, Jason, Jr, Jordan, Christian, Darian, Ashton, Gage, Taylor, Avalon, Keyana and Everett.; his siblings, Larry Vest and Cheryl Vest both of Ohio; A Memorial Service will be held by the family at a later date in Ohio.?á Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is assisting the family.?á Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.fortmyersmemorial.com
