Roger Earl Goodman's Obituary
Roger Earl Goodman passed away on Monday, December 16th, 2019 at his home in Cape Coral. He had struggled with several long-term illnesses but has now found peace.
He leaves behind his wife Lorena Goodman, his son Keith (Rachel) Goodman, his daughter Jessica (Jamie) Reimer and granddaughters Katie and Allison Reimer, his son Kirk Parsons, his sister Susan Newenhouse, and many other beloved friends and family members.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on January 21, 1950, to Ike and Roma Goodman, he moved to the Fort Myers area as a young man. He owned and operated a successful business, Goodman and Sons Trucking, for many years. He then continued in the fill dirt and land clearing business as a foreman and, occasionally, as a consultant.
Roger found great joy in gardening and horticulture. He worked brilliantly with his hands crafting beautiful stained-glass art and woodwork in his free time. He was an animal lover and always had a soft spot in his heart for dogs. Most importantly of all, he was a devoted husband and father who was always there for his family. He will be missed more than words can say.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555 and the service will be held inside the funeral home chapel at 2 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2020.
