Kenneally August 7, 1944 ?Çô December 28, 2011 ?á City of Birth: Medford, MA ?á Passed Away at: Fort Myers, FL ?á Occupation: Veteran United States Air Force Air Nation Guard, Retired ?á ?á Roger Kenneally, 67, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in his home, Fort Myers, Florida.?á Mr. Kenneally was the son of the late Warren Kenneally and Eva Kenneally (Nelson).?á Roger spent his childhood in the Boston area and settled in Rowley, MA.?á Roger had an older brother Brian Kenneally and a younger sister Chris Prime.?á ?á Before graduating High School Roger joined the United States Army National Guard in February 1963.?á In July of 65 Roger earned his commission and became an Officer. He held the position as Light Weapons Infantryman as an enlisted man.?á After receiving his commission he was Personnel Management Officer, as a Guardsman and Technician.?á He resigned his commission and was discharged August 1, 1977.?á Roger then found work at Commence Insurance Company as a Investigator for fraudulent claims.?á Roger worked there for 17 years and retired early.?á In 1991 Roger enlisted into the United States Air Force National Guard as a Information Management Craftsman until he was eligible to retire in November 1995.?á Roger then retired into the ready reserves until his 60th birthday where he was officially retired from the United States military as Captain. ?á Roger was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.?á Technical Sergeant Roger M. Kenneally distinguished himself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as an Administrative Specialist, Information Management Section, 212th Engineering Installation Squadron, Massachusetts Air National Guard, Worchester Air Nation Guard Station, Worchester, Massachusetts from 28 June 1991 to 23 December 1995.?á During this period, the outstanding professional skill, leadership, and ceaseless efforts of Sergeant Kenneally resulted in major contributions to the effectiveness and success of Air Force programs.?á The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Kenneally culminate a distinguished career in the service of his country and reflect great credit upon himself, the Air National Guard, and the United States Air Force. ?á Roger married to Gwen Kenneally (Surpitski) in June 1, 1969.?á Together they raised two children, their son Scott and a daughter, Heather.?á Their family has grown to include two grandchildren. ?á Roger and Gwen retired to Fort Myers, Florida.?á They have lived there for 15 years.?á He is survived by his wife, Gwen Kenneally of Fort Myers, FL; his son, Scott Kenneally of Fort Lauderdale, his daughter, Heather Kenneally of Fort Myers, FL, his grandchildren, Katelin Margard, Maxx Kenneally-Betts.?á No formal funeral services have been scheduled at this time.?á Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is assisting the family.?á Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.fortmyersmemorial.com
