Roma Ruhl Shutt's Obituary
Roma Ruhl Shutt, 91, of Estero, passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2015. She was born December 4, 1924 in Cresskill, NJ to Edmund and Sylvia (Brown) Ruhl. In 1983, she and her husband, Ward Shutt, moved to Florida from Port Jefferson, NY. She was a former teacher and director for Play Groups Nursery School in Stony Brook, NY where she taught for 25 years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling nationwide and also in Europe in their Airstream Travel Trailer. Mrs. Shutt is survived by her children: Scottie Sheehan (husband, Timothy) of Albuquerque, NM and Ward Shutt, Jr. (wife, Elizabeth) of Bonita Springs; her brother, Edmund Ruhl, Jr. of Bonita Springs; her sister, Sylvia Booth of Estero, 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ward Shutt in 2002, her granddaughter, Kelly in 2013 and her sister, Gloria Campbell this past December 4, 2015. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
