Romanes Darbouze's Obituary
Romanes Darbouze, 76, a resident of Florida since 1982, formerly of Haiti went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 1, 1945, in Marcabe Port Salut, Haiti to the late, Michel and Ficia (nee Cazo) Darbouze.
Romanes spend much of his time serving the elderly community; first as a line cook at Shell Point Village in Fort Myers, then partnering with his wife, Solienne, to build Cape Villa Assisted Living Facility in Cape Coral. In his downtime, he enjoyed watching the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat with his family. He was also a frequent participant in the men's choir and men's Bible study at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Romanes is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Solienne Darbouze of Cape Coral, FL; eleven children, Carline Nozile (Michael) of Miami, FL, Darline Darbouze of Miami, FL, David Darbouze of Miami (Shawntavia), FL, George Darbouze (deceased), Ron Darbouze (Charrisse) of Austin, TX, Mathieu Darbouze of Miami, FL, Gerri Joseph (Cindy) of Dallas, TX, Adrien Joseph (Magdalena) of Naples, FL, Pierre Joseph (Natalie) of Cape Coral, FL, Gina Waota (Franck) of Elk Grove, CA and Phillippe Joseph (Erin) of Cape Coral, FL; three living siblings, Presivin Darbouze, Frederic Darbouze, Marie Albertina Robin Darbouze, all of Miami, FL; four deceased siblings; Joseph Robert Darbouze, Joseph Albert Darbouze, Ulmaine Ville Darbouze, and Daniel Darbouze; 27 grandchildren; as well as two great grandchildren.
The visitation will be held from 6:00pm - 9:00pm, Friday, September 2, 2022, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 4040 Princeton Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901.
The funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00am Saturday, September 3, 2022, at First Assembly of God, 4701 Summerlin Road, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 9:00am until the funeral service. Entombment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, the family requests the donations be brought to the services and there will be a donation box that will be delivered to Moffitt personally.
