Ronald G. Davis' Obituary
Ronald G. Davis, 94, formerly of Mt Pocono, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024, in Fort Myers, FL. He was the husband of the late Mary Kiess Davis, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage before her passing in 2020.
His loss leaves an immeasurable hole in the hearts of his family and his Cypress Cove community friends. His spirit and positive outlook on life made everyone smile.
Ronald received a B.S. degree from East Stroudsburg State College in 1954, and earned a Masters degree from the University of Scranton in 1973. He was a teacher for the Pocono Mountain School District for his entire career. He began his teaching in 1954 at the former Tobyhanna Township High School in Pocono Pines, PA. He was one of the original teachers at the Pocono Mountain Junior/Senior High School, which opened in September 1961. He touched many lives as a teacher, coach, and athletic director before retiring in 1989.
Ronald served his community as a member of the Mount Pocono Rotary, by becoming a volunteer EMT with Mount Pocono Fire Department, and by serving on the Borough Council.
Ronald was the son of the late Gerard and Frances (Miller) Davis. He is survived by his son, Ronald (Jerry) Davis and wife Ange of River Forest, IL, his daughter Connie White and her husband Steve of Osprey, FL; grandchildren Brad, Allyson, Jeffrey, and Katie; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Nora, Austin, and Lucy; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Garden and Funeral Home, Fort Myers, FL.
