Ronald Dee Fowler's Obituary
Ronald Dee Fowler passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 78. He is now reunited with the love of his life, his late wife Carol Jean (Kingsbury) Fowler.
Ron was born on May 23, 1947, in Louisville, KY, the youngest of three children. A proud 1966 graduate of Valley High School, Ron excelled in track and field, especially pole vaulting. He went on to work faithfully at Ford Motor Company in Louisville for 30 years in statistical process control, retiring with pride and dedication.
He is survived by his daughter, Dr. April Fowler Felton, and her husband, Dr. Shawn Felton; his son, Michael Fowler Sr., and his wife, Tonya Fowler; and his beloved grandchildren: Delaney (17) and Zachary (14) Felton, and Michael (29) and Taylor (32) Fowler.
Ron and Carol shared 51 years of marriage, from 1973 until her passing in 2024. Together, they built a strong and loving family. After retirement, Ron embraced golf, becoming a passionate player and one of the founding members of the Copperleaf Golf Community in The Brooks, Bonita Springs, FL, where he lived for the last 20 years. He also gave generously of his time to improve his neighborhood and golf course, leaving a lasting impact on his community.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Ron was a die-hard Kentucky Wildcats fan—Go Big Blue! But whether it was college basketball, golf, or any game on TV, Ron could be found cheering with heart. His competitive spirit, love of excellence, and drive to be his best defined his life—and live on in his children and grandchildren.
A joint Celebration of Life for both Ron and Carol Fowler will be held at Copperleaf Golf Club on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 2–4 p.m.
Donations may be made in memory of Ron and Carol to The Copperleaf Charitable Foundation towards a memorial leaf on The Copper Tree. Drop off checks at the administration office noting Fowler Memorial Leaf, made out to the CCF.
