Ronald Carl Martin's Obituary
Ronald Carl Martin of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, May 29, 2022 while receiving care at his home from Hope Hospice. He was 86 years old.
Ronald was born in Fort Myers, Florida on January 28, 1936, the proud son to Ella Marie (Scott) and John Carl Martin. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, worked in an Engineering capacity for Bendix Aerospace in Fort Myers and in several foreign locations like England and Chile. After returning to Fort Myers, he worked for several years in construction with Royal American Builders before joining the Lee County Building Inspection Department where he served as an Inspector for 10 years prior to retirement. Ronald was a longtime member of The Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of Fort Myers which later became known as Christ Community Church and he worshiped there until the time of his death.
Ronald leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Sylvia Y. (McGehee) Martin; his three sons Edward Curtis Martin, Stephen Wayne Martin and Stuart Randall Martin; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; his sisters Carlene of Georgia, Carolyn of Arizona and Linda of Daytona, Florida and his brother Larry Paul Martin of Fort Myers, Florida. Ron also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family. He will be warmly remembered and fondly missed by all he knew. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Janice Lynn Martin and grandson Bradley Wayne Martin.
A Memorial Service for Ron will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Christ Community Church, 4050 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33966, (239) 939-5656. Funeral Military Honors in recognition of Ron's service to our nation as a member of the Armed Forces will be rendered at this service by members of the United States Navy.
