Rose Marie Close's Obituary
Rose Marie Close, aged 88, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 3, 2024, to reunite with her loving husband in heaven. Born on August 23, 1936, in Masontown, PA, she was the cherished daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (nee Petty) Chrin.
Rose was a remarkable lady with a robust Catholic faith that guided her throughout her life. Her generous spirit and kind-hearted nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met—she was always there when her family and friends needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance.
She delighted in the simple joys of life: playing tennis, basking at the beach, indulging in movies, shopping and eating out, and engaging in spirited games of bingo, bunko and slot machine play especially in Las Vegas.
However, the greatest joy of her life was her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their presence lit up Rose's world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her face would always light up whenever they walked into the room, embodying the purest form of love and happiness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Close in May of 2024 and three siblings, Michael Chrin, Anna Spenik and Margaret Dubrawski.
Rose is survived by her two loving children, Carolyn S. Baker (Clarence) of N. Ft. Myers, FL and Larry Close (Lorinda) of Fort Myers, FL; one sister, Delores Liptock; six grandchildren, Brandy Medhurst, Jodi Baker, Christopher Close, David Close, Ryan Close and Brandon Close; as well as nine adored great grandchildren, Rendi, Carson, Annabeth, Freya, Olivia, Ella, Stella, Jameson and Davie.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2025 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2025 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow where Rose will be placed with her husband, Paul.
Rose's loving spirit will be deeply missed, but her memory and the impact she had on her family and friends will forever remain in their hearts.
