Rosemarie Parente's Obituary
Rosemarie Parente, 80, passed away on Oct. 10, 2025. She was a devoted wife of 59 years to her high school sweetheart Dennis, who died in December 2023. She was a loving mother to Scott and Shawn and grandmother to Lucas, Liam, Sophie and Vince.
Rose was born in Detroit to the late Charon and Francis Anderson. She graduated from Roseville High School and settled in Sterling Heights, Michigan to raise her family. She worked part-time while caring for her children and was active in her church where she and Dennis led the Marriage Encounter program for couples. Rose loved dogs and had several Lhasa Apsos, including Muffin (the best dog in the world) and two that were named Pepper.
Rose valued spending time with immediate and extended family, making regular visits to her parents’ house on Anchor Bay off Lake St. Clair, where they would gather for cards and cookouts. She and Dennis liked to travel Up North in Michigan, to visit dear friends in Indiana, to try their luck at casinos, and to relax with friends on Caribbean cruises. They spent time in Chicago with Scott and his family and in Michigan with Shawn and her family after they retired to Florida. She was happy giving gifts especially to her grandchildren, who to this day still received cards at every holiday with $20 inside.
For the last 15 years Rose lived in Punta Gorda, Florida where she had many dear friends who she considered family, and cherished being part of their families’ lives and celebrations. She was considered a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews whom she loved. She enjoyed socializing and playing games like euchre, poker and mahjong. She was a regular at water aerobics and thrived in the hot, tropical weather.
Rose is survived by her children and grandchildren: Scott and Julie Parente and their children Sophie and Vince; and Shawn and David Jasionowski and their children Lucas and Liam. She is also survived by her sisters Kathy Gervais and Nancy (Harold) Herman. She is preceded in death by her brother Robert Anderson.
Rose was a sweet, loving woman who will be forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew her.
