Rosemary Jayne Nugent's Obituary
Rosemary Jayne Nugent, age 89 of Fort Myers, FL passed away December 17, 2023 in Hospice at Lehigh Acres. She was born in Dennison, Ohio on October 20, 1934 to the late Walter and Esther (Johnson) Gram. She was the youngest of 7 children with brothers Walter Jr., Donald, Earl, Glen and sisters Ethel and Evelyn. Rosemary spent her early years on farms in Gnadenhutten, Paris and Malvern, Ohio. She was the sole dedicated family farm hand to her father Walter while 3 of her 4 brothers were in World War II military service. This was a testament and premise to her lifelong work ethic.
Rosemary was a 1952 graduate of Malvern High School. She married Alvin Lindeman in July 1952, having 3 children, residing in Robertsville, Ohio through 1982. Her early work experience included years at TRW and Fisher’s Big Wheel in Minerva, Ohio. She began working at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio in 1981 as assistant supervisor of Housekeeping. In 1984 at the age of 50 she started attending Akron University and obtained her Executive Housekeeping certification two years later. She was employed as Environmental Service Director at St. Luke Lutheran home in North Canton fulfilling her goal to be a supervisor in her field of work.
After separating in 1988, Rosemary relocated to Fort Myers, Florida and was employed in various positions in the housekeeping industry most notably with HealthPark as Executive Manager to open the hospital facility retiring in 1997.
Rosemary met and later married Delbert (Del) Nugent in July, 2000. Del passed away in July with Alzheimer’s; greatly missing him she desired to go to heaven to be with Jesus and reunite with Del and her loved ones.
Rosemary was a life-long volunteer in various roles in her community and church. She was a long-time member of Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville, Ohio and Villas Grace Church in Fort Myers, Florida.
Rosemary is survived by daughter, Brenda (Dale) Clapper of Fort Myers, Florida, son, Denny (Linda) Lindeman of North Canton, Ohio, daughter, Christine (Lee) Hoyt of Magnolia, Ohio, six grandchildren Marcus (Michelle), Evonne, Angie (Chris), Abbey (Ben), Ali (Nick) and Kaylee. She was a rare great grandmother to 3 sets of twins with eleven great-grandchildren, Michael, Mykala, Greyson, Gavin, Gage, Sydney, Cameron, Parker, Wrenly, Leander and Briggs. Predeceased by her parents and siblings, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Villas Grace Church this winter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Villas Grace Church in her honor.
