Roy Kessluk's Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Roy Kessluk, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a man whose life was defined by unwavering service and a generous spirit. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by loved ones.
Roy was born on July 18, 1930, in New York, New York. His life was marked by a deep commitment to his country and his community. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War, demonstrating courage and dedication to his fellow soldiers. Following his honorable service, he had a 30 year career lastly as director of food services at many colleges, hospitals and airports. In his 60's and 70's he was involved with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), where he found immense satisfaction in helping others during times of crisis. His work ethic was exemplary, and he approached each challenge with unwavering diligence and a compassionate heart. He genuinely loved his work, finding purpose in contributing to the well-being of his community.
Beyond his professional achievements, Roy was a loving and devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Meredith; his children, Erica Werner, Lydia Jo Campbell, and David L. Kessluk; four grandchildren, Noble Werner, Jonathan Kessluk (partner, Krysten), Jonah Kessluk, Roman Campbell (partner, Ky); brother, Harley Kessluk; two stepchildren, Andy Meredith and Laura Carter; and many nieces and nephews.
