Rudolph "Rudy" Francis Turk's Obituary
Rudolph (Rudy) Francis Turk, 86, of North Fort Myers, Florida, departed this life on October 24, 2013. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated for Rudolph at 12:00 PM Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2157 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers. Military honors will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Field of Honor. Rudy was born in Willoughby, OH. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran, serving during World War II. Mr. Turk was a carpenter and general contractor. He and his family moved to Sarasota, Florida and later moved to North Fort Myers and resided with his daughter and son-in-law. He was a life member of the Carpenters Local Union, No. 435, American Legion Post 266 Fruitville of Sarasota, Florida, life member of the Elks Lakewood Ranch Lodge, #2855 of Sarasota, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3233 of Sarasota, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2756 of Sarasota, Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #2199 of Cape Coral. He was the loving father of three daughters: Linda Tompkins (Robert), Gloria Johnson (John) and Diane Fliss (Edward); his two sons: Paul Turk (Noreen) and Robert Turk (Christy). Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Baltazar and Elizabeth Turk; his brother, Frank Turk and sisters: Frances Turk, Mary Sukalac and Theresa Klco and his loving pet, “Peanut”. Among his final wishes was a note that read: “Smile, I loved you all”. And we too loved and will miss you deeply. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway, Cape coral, FL 33909 or masses at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
