Russel Glenn Bottles' Obituary
Russel Bottles went to Heaven to be with Jesus on July 24, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Emery and Emma; his wife of 68 years, Josephine; his son, Glenn; sister, Ruth; brothers, Harold and Keith; as well as hundreds of friends.On February 19, 1926 Russel Glenn Bottles was born in New Amsterdam, Indiana. He was raised on a farm. They had no money, but their home was filled with love and prayers.Russel came home at the end of WWII and married the young lady, Josephine Alstott, who had sent him a letter everyday while he was in the Navy.Russel worked in the Alstott Hardware Store for 20 years in their home town of Corydon, Indiana. Russel, Josephine and their sons, Tim and Nathan moved to Indianapolis, IN to open their own Ace hardware store. After 25 years Russel and Josephine moved to Ft. Myers, FL where he worked in another family hardware store for 21 years.Russel often remarked that his purpose for living was to worship God and help people. He and his wife always worked in their church. They did everything but pastor. Russel was S.S. superintendent for about 20 years.Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Nathan Bottles (Kaye), Timothy Bottles of Ft. Myers, FL; six grandchildren, Brent Bottles (Stephanie), Nathalee Cuffman (Tom), Trenton Bottles, Tyler Bottles (Alyssa), Taylor Bottles and Savanna Bottles; as well as four great grandchildren, Mason and Mallory Cuffman and Ira and Cora Josephine Bottles.A Funeral Service will be celebrated 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 28, 2019 at First Church of the Nazarene, 13545 American Colony Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL 33912. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 PM up until the service time at the church. Interment will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, July 29, 2019 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Ft.
