Ruth Bartlett Brauer's Obituary
Ruth Brauer, 91, of Fort Myers, Florida died peacefully in her sleep on December 3, 2019. She was born March 3, 1928 in Ava, Illinois – the only child of Robert & Edith Bartlett. Ruth was married to James “Jim” Brauer for 65 years until his death in 2015.Ruth spent her high school years in Belleville, Illinois where she met the love of her life, Jim. There they soon had 2 children, a daughter & son. Together they lived in various states to follow Jim’s construction career. Finally they settled in Fort Myers in 1965. Together they started & operated a successful stucco construction business for many years. Ruth & Jim were able to enjoy 36 summers in and around Boone, NC with family & many friends.Ruth is survived by daughter Nancy Sizemore, son Jimmy Brauer; grandchildren Jennifer (Marc) Beattie, Steven (Paula) Sizemore, Jamie Brauer Loan, Berkleigh Brauer; great-grandchildren Clarissa, Cameron & Caitlyn Beattie & Walker, Tuck and Van Sizemore.A private memorial service is being planned & will be celebrated in January, 2020. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made payable to the Robert Sizemore CTCL Research Fund, MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486.
