Ruth Lillian Carriere's Obituary
Ruth Lillian (Balch) Carriere, matriarch of the Balch family, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Mark Tiner, in Fort Myers, Florida, on January 25, 2018 at the age of 90.Ruth was born in Becket, Massachusetts on December 10th, 1927. She touched many young lives in the 18 years that she was a school bus driver in Westfield, Massachusetts and the 25 years that she worked as a media aide for the Lee County Public School System prior to her retirement in 1995. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, stepson, and husband of 50 years, Joseph E. Carriere, Sr.. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Suzanne Scott (Paul), Jean Barber, Beverly Tiner (Mark), one son: Joseph Carriere, Jr., one stepdaughter: Patricia Dupuis (Richard), six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.A private graveside service will be held at the Alva Cemetery at a future date.
