Ruth Joan Angles' Obituary
Ruth Joan Angles, 81 Fort Myers, Florida August 1, 2017 Ruth was born March 8, 1936 in Leona, Wisconsin. From her earliest years, God gifted Ruth with incredible musical talents. Her parents and siblings enjoyed singing together at home and church as Ruth accompanied them on the piano. During her high school years, Ruth participated in and won several first-place statewide choral and female quartet competitions and was subsequently awarded a full scholarship to Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. A few years later, she met and married Ronald P. Angles on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University. They were married August 1, 1959. They were married 58 years. Ruth was an accomplished musician having written and recorded numerous original compositions to the glory of her precious Savior. Over the years, she faithfully served as church pianist/organist for five different churches: Ottawa, IL Church of the Nazarene, Howell, Michigan, Church of the Nazarene, Cleveland, Ohio, First Church of the Nazarene, Flint, Michigan, Central Church of the Nazarene, and Fort Myers, Florida, First Church of the Nazarene. In addition to this, Ruth was a beloved third grade school teacher for 16 years at Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Fort Myers, Florida. Ruth leaves a legacy of kindness, faithfulness and fortitude. She had a smile for everyone and the keen ability to make each one feel loved and welcome. She simply refused to ever hold a grudge. Ruth loved hot fudge sundaes, tootsie rolls and long drives in the country, especially ones that involved scouting for deer. But more than anything she loved her Savior and her all precious family and friends–far too many to number. She noted their names in her Bible next to passages of Scripture selected for each one. She will be long remembered as a faithful sender of loving notes and birthday cards that often included warm encouragements to trust God’s Word and talk to Him daily. She was a gentle breath of loving-kindness to anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She is survived her husband, Ronald P. Angles of Fort Myers, her brother, Dr. William (Cheryl) Wilhoyte of McLean, Virginia, three children: Dr. Ronald (Charlotte) Angles of Paducah, Kentucky, Mrs. Julie (Ken) Cruickshank of Naples, Florida and Mr. Kent (Tiffany) Angles of Punta Gorda, Florida and ten grandchildren: Mrs. Bethany (Jordan) Fray, Mrs. Hannah (Drew) Kernosky, Emileigh Smith, Megan Mahoney, Wyatt Angles, Josiah Cruickshank, Abbie Angles, and Judah Cruickshank and one great-grandchild yet unborn, as well many other beloved family members.
