Ruth Helen Lupo's Obituary
Ruth Helen Lupo, 91, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012.?á She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 5, 1920 to Hugo and Helen Zion.?á She grew up in Cleveland, married and moved to Ft. Myers in 1949 with her husband Merle and daughter.?á She worked in local school cafeterias and managed the Ft. Myers High School cafeteria for many years.?á Ruth was always ready to chaperon or fix meals for all ?Ç£Greenie?Ç¥ activities.?á She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir and managing their Wednesday night dinners.?á As she loved to sing, Ruth was instrumental in starting a church singing group that entertained at nursing homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle, three brothers, Homer, Hugo, Hubert and ?ásister Lila.?á She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (John); ?ágrandchildren, Jay (Christy), Michael (Pat), Michelle (Erik) and great grandchildren, Kayla, Cayman, Dylan, Peyton and Samantha.?á Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Cy Zion and Sarah Zion and a brother-in-law Joe Lupo (Dee) and many nieces and nephews.?á Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.?á Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home officiated by Pastor John Daugherty. A reception for family and friends will be held following the service at the First Baptist Church, 1735 Jackson Street, Fort ?áMyers, FL 33901.
