Ruth McCoury Wagner Floyd's Obituary
Ruth Floyd of Cape Coral passed away on October 23, 2015 at the age of 87 years old. She was an avid gardener and loved to read the Bible. She was born on May 4, 1928 to Emmett and Myrtle McCoury in Mitchell County, North Carolina. During her early childhood she lived in Miller’s Station, MD and Spring Grove, PA. She married Ross W. Wagner on June 11, 1949 and lived in the York PA area until 1959 when the family moved to Sarasota. In 1967, they moved to Cape Coral and lived in one of the first homes in the Wildwood Parkway area. After the death of her first husband in 1972, she married James Floyd in 1978 who passed away in 1985. Surviving are two sons, Jeff Wagner, Tallahassee and Joel Wagner, Lakewood, CO; brother Richard McCoury, East Berlin, PA; brother-in-law, Ray Wagner, York, PA; uncle, Ralph Street, Tampa, FL; five grandchildren and one great-grand child. Visitation will be 12pm – 1pm with funeral ceremonies at 1:00 pm, Thursday October 29th at the Ft Myers Memorial Gardens Chapel and conducted by Rev. Stephen Wetmore of Trinity Reformed Church. Interment next to her first husband will immediately follow the services. All arrangements are under the direction of Ft. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America to help search for a cure of this disease of the mind.
