Ruth Ione West passed away on May 1, 2012, at the age of 80. She was born April 24, 1932 in Starbuck, Minnesota. ?áHer achievements included being a school teacher and a member of the Alumni of the University of Minnesota. Ruth also was employed for many years by JC Penney in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Thormod and Bertha (Schultze) Brevig, her sister, Adeline Foss, brother-in-law, Esten Foss, nephew, Norman Foss, sister-in-law, Marilyn Spudino, nephew, Tommy Brevig, sister-in-law, Carol Brevig, niece, Susan Schwendemann, son-in-law, Bruce Fischer, grandson, Andrew Lutz and her second husband, Jack West. She was an active member of the Lamb of God Lutheran Church of Estero and the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Starbuck, Minnesota. ?áRuth was a very creative and talented woman who loved the arts, music, and dancing. Her passions included reading and being dedicated to her children. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy. ?á Ruth is survived by her first husband, Ibrahim Metaweh; daughters, Nadia Metaweh, Dina (G. Jeff Mitchell) Metaweh and Amy West Lutz; ?áSon, Omar (Suzan) Metaweh; Sister, Dagny Schwendemann; Brother, Andrew Brevig; Grandchildren, Sally (Travis) Calander, Dina Lutz, Alex Lutz, Maria Metaweh and?áDavid Chong; ?ágreat-grandchildren, Corbin and?áHaylee Calander. She?áwas preceded in death by a sister, Adeline Foss,?á a grandson, Andrew Lutz and her?ásecond husband, Jack West.
