Ruthe B. Good's Obituary
Ruthe Kathleen Bauguess Good, a resident of Ft. Myers, FL, age 99, died peacefully on Nov. 23. She was born on April 23, 1912, in Ashe County, NC, to Thomas Jefferson Bauguess and Birdie Ellen Foster Bauguess. Ruthe attended first through fifth grades at Helton Elementary School in Ashe County, NC. In 1924 the family moved to Emory, VA, where her father managed the Emory & Henry College farm. She attended grades six through ten at the Meadowview School and Greenfield High School located near Emory, VA. After the death of her father in 1927, her family returned to Ashe County, NC, where she graduated from Lansing High School in 1927. She continued her education in Winston-Salem, NC, and graduated from Draughn Business College in 1932. ?áFrom 1932 to 1938 she worked as a legal secretary in Jefferson, NC. In 1939 she moved to Lancaster, PA, and worked in a local law firm. In 1940 she married Daniel A. Good and became a full-time homemaker. In 1968 they moved to Ft. Myers, FL. Ruthe and Daniel were members of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Her husband preceded her in death in 1991. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia B. Kalmar of Ft. Myers, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel B. Good and Juliette E. Good of Statesboro, GA; four grandchildren, Debbie Poulalion and husband Mark of Longwood, FL, John Kalmar of New York City, NY, Daniel E. Good and wife Wendy of Waycross, GA, and George William Good and wife Katrina of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and six great-grandchildren, Brantley, Kate, Sarah, and Grace Good, and Joshua and Jacob Poulalion. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. at the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Officated by Rev. George McCracken. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and great-grandsons. Memorial contributions can be made to ?Ç£Missions,?Ç¥ care of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church at 4141 DeLeon Street, Ft. Myers, FL 33901.
