Salvatore Chiarelli's Obituary
Salvatore Chiarelli, 76, of Cape Coral, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015. He was born September 24, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. For over 30 years, Sal owned and operated Silver Shears Barber Shop in Lehigh Acres. He also worked as a carpenter and owned Sal’s Custom Cabinets and prior to this, owned S & J Meat Provisions in NY. He was passionate about the Lion’s Club and was a member for over 30 years of the Fort Myers Club where he held the Sight Chairman position raising money for people in need to receive eye services. He loved boating, being out on the open water, going lobstering in the Keys, taking his dog, Cody for walks and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Sal had a passion and got great enjoyment as a major University of Florida Gator fan. Above all else though, he loved his wife Norma. Sal is survived by his wife of 47 years, Norma J. Chiarelli; his seven children: Laura Rodriguez, Kirsten Shultz, Kent Liebegott, Kari Francis, Kurt Liebegott, Andrew Chiarelli and Joseph Chiarelli; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and his siblings: John Chiarelli and Dorothy Thomas. Friends will be received at the viewing from 4 – 7 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Memorial Gardens with Dr. Tim Halverson officiating. Military honors will follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lion’s Club of Fort Myers.
