Sandra Deramo Sanders, 76, of Fort Myers, FL passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in Fort Myers, FL. Graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. Sandra was born in Sewickley, PA on November 15, 1940 to Vincent W. and Dorothea M. Deramo. She graduated from Quaker Valley High School and received her teaching degree from Indiana State College. Sandra worked as a school teacher in Indiana County School District and Lee County School District for over 35 years, inspiring her students with a love of language and learning. Sandra was head of Estero High School English Department and was fluent in French and Spanish. She loved all things British and traveled at every opportunity. Sandra was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Sandra is survived by her husband of 48 years, James T. Sanders, Jr; son, James T. Sanders III; daughter, Sandra Lee Sanders (John Mitzelfeld); siblings, Joseph V. Deramo and his wife Janet, Marya D. Watkinson and her husband Arlie, Ellen J. Deramo, Suzanne M. Deramo, Nanci A. Deramo, Vincent W. Deramo, Jr. and his wife Tracy, Laurie A. Wilson and her husband Doug; 11 nieces, 2 nephews and numerous grandnieces and nephews. The family of Sandra D. Sanders wish to extend their sincere thanks to Connie Ford, Sandra Belair St. Onge, Marion Parten, Ronald and Mary Smalley, Joseph and Sydney D’Alessandro, Rev. Philip D. Read II, and Lee Health ALS Recognized Treatment Center and Hope Hospice of Fort Myers, FL.
