Sara Jane Gaysek's Obituary
Sara Jane Gaysek passed away peacefully at Barrington Terrace of Fort Myers on Monday, January 31, 2022 following some recent health challenges. She was 90 years old and was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dale Beatty; husband, Frank Gaysek; and sisters, Betty Bathory and Kay Stafford. Surviving is her brother, Thomas Beatty; sister, Joanne Street; her three children, Steven Fleck, Michael Fleck and Brenda (Fleck) Peters; six grandchildren, Lauren Fleck, Andrew Fleck, Chad Fleck, Troy Bortner, Adam Bortner and Brian Bortner; six great grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Susan (Davis) Fleck.
Sara was born on March 6, 1931 in Kingwood, WV. She moved with her family to Ft. Howard, MD when she was six years old. Sara loved growing up in Ft. Howard, MD, graduated from Sparrows Point High School, and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland. Sara retired from Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers after a long and accomplished career in nursing.
Sara was a devoted loving mother, grandmother and a loyal friend who faithfully supported her family. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, Frank Gaysek, and lived an active, fun retirement in Seven Lakes for many years. She was loved by all who new her.
A Memorial Service for Sara will be celebrated in the Chapel of Love inside Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907 at 3:00 PM on Sunday February the 13th, 2022. Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Southwest Florida Symphony.
