Sarah "Sally" Barker Wilson's Obituary
Sarah ?Ç£Sally?Ç¥ Barker Wilson, 78, of Ft. Myers and formerly of Overland Park, Ks. passed away peacefully on January 16, 2013 at Shell Point Pavilion. Sally was a member of St. Cecilia?ÇÖs Catholic Church. Past memberships include Cure of Ars Catholic Church, Leawood Country Club and Loch Lloyd Country Club. Sally is preceded in death by her husband Larry in 2005. They were married 49 years. She is survived by her three daughters Sally Wilson of Cape Coral, FL, Laura (Dr. Roger Howell) of Ft. Myers, FL, Dorothy (Gabino) Nieto of Maitland, FL. Nana also leaves four grandchildren, Larry, Carly, Katie and Courtney. Sally was born and raised in Shaker Heights, OH to Frederick and Sarah Barker. Her brother, Frederick also of Cleveland, precedes her in death. She attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and went on to Parsons, the New School for Design, where she studied her passion of art history. She was an avid athlete playing tennis, golf and swimming. She called Sanibel her second home for over 50 years. She loved a great game of bridge and gin rummy. While raising her daughters, she was an active volunteer at the Kansas City Museum performing plays for children and baking cookies at the Wornall House Museum. She also taught toll painting and decoupage classes. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia?ÇÖs Catholic Church, 5632 Sunrise Drive, Fort Myers, FL. Internment will follow at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Michael J.
