Secundo Frank Tata's Obituary
Secundo Frank Tata of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, May 18, 2017 while under hospice care at Shell Point. He was 87 years old.Secundo was born on February 4, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan as the second-born twin, hence the name “Secundo,” to Antonia (Martino) and Francesco Tata. He proudly served our nation as a veteran of the United States Army and later spent his working life at Ford Motor Company as a Skilled Metal Finisher on the auto assembly line. He spent about 76 years of his life in Michigan until becoming a Florida snowbird following his retirement. He later moved to the Fort Myers area on a full-time basis in 2006.He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife Mary (D’Agostino) Tata; his adored daughter Mary D. Finnegan; his son-in-law Robert F. Finnegan. He also leaves behind a number of extended family members and many, many others who were proud to call Secundo a friend. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Primo and Robert Tata and his sisters Nancy Cianciolo & Minnie Murphy.A Visitation for Secundo will be held from 9:00 -10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Muyers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. A Mass of Christian Burial will thereafter be celebrated at 11:00 AM inside the Chapel at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, 8121 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, Florida 33919, (239) 481-7171.
