Sharon Ellen Deal's Obituary
Sharon Ellen Deal, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at Gulf Coast Village in Cape Coral, Florida. Formerly of Monroe, Ohio, Sharon had made Cape Coral her home for over 30 https://years.Born on July 12, 1938, in Ashland, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of the late Carl and Francis (Lawson) Pruitt.
Sharon was a proud graduate of Miami University in Ohio, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, followed by her Juris Doctorate from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. She dedicated her professional life to helping others as a personal injury and workers’ compensation attorney.
Sharon was a longtime member of McGregor Baptist Church and was active in the Jayceettes. She found joy in flower arranging, shopping, and traveling, but above all, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Carl Deal (Janet) and Ginger Arnold (Greg); her sisters, Gail Balesky, Barbara Evans, and Rosemary Newsom (Larry); and her sisters-in-law, Nancy Pruitt and Connie Pruitt. She was a cherished grandmother to Chad Deal (Kaitlyn), Sarah Breiner (John), Katlyn Deal, Grant Deal (Tess), Brandy Merritt (David), and Jason Walker (Heather). Her legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren: Ethan Deal, Eli Deal, Quinn Juliet Deal, McKinnon Breiner, Lee Breiner, Cooper Deal, Wesley Deal, Aidyn Walker, Noah Walker, and Keira Walker. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, David Deal (Judy), many beloved nieces and nephews and close friends, including Rhonda Couts and Phil & Clarene Trexler. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Kermit “Woody” Deal, and her brothers: Carl “Pete” Pruitt Jr. (Joey), Ralph Pruitt (Millie), Jerry Pruitt, and Garis Pruitt.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 PM with entombment to follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
