Sherry Groepler's Obituary
Sherry Groepler, a vibrant soul known for her resilience, authenticity, and deep love for those around her, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and compassion.
Sherry was born to Jerry Bradley and Gloria Rossi, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her beloved sister Brenda, her cherished children William Groepler and Michele Groepler-O'Neill. Despite these deep losses, Sherry carried forward with remarkable courage and an unwavering love for life.
She is survived by the love of her life and devoted partner, Steve Komondorea, who stood faithfully by her side through every triumph and challenge. She also leaves behind her sister Penny and treasured grandchildren: Kendra, Jenny, and William — lovingly known as Cooper — as well as three great-grandchildren.
For most of her professional life, Sherry was a successful property manager, overseeing large multi-family apartment complexes in Texas. Her dedication and leadership left a lasting mark in the industry. After spending several joyful years in Oxnard, California, she eventually made Florida her home.
In her youth, Sherry had a passion for horses and the freedom they represented. She was known to cut school to ride and roam the open fields — a spirit of adventure that stayed with her throughout her life. Sherry was also a devoted animal lover, especially fond of cats, and animals seemed naturally drawn to her kind and calming presence.
She had a soft spot for life’s simple pleasures — a night out at the casino, and later in life, an evening of bingo brought her happiness. Her favorite color was purple, and her favorite food was shrimp — in any form it was prepared.
Sherry faced numerous health challenges with admirable strength. A breast cancer survivor, she also endured and recovered from four strokes since 2004 and bravely managed diabetes. Through it all, her will remained strong, her smile never faded, and her love for others only deepened.
To know Sherry was to know a woman who was unapologetically herself — genuine, spirited, and full of love. Her smile could light up a room, and her heart was always open to those in need. She taught those around her the power of perseverance, the value of kindness, and the beauty of living authentically.
She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her — family, friends, and all the animals that found comfort in her presence. Her memory will live on in the stories we share, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.
Sherry's visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 8210 Cypress Lake Dr. Fort Myers, FL 33919 at 10AM with funeral mass beginning at 11AM.
