Shirley Ann Campbell's Obituary
Shirley Ann (Cornelius) Campbell, age 83, of North Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, Florida.Shirley was born on April 28, 1932 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Leon and Dorothy Cornelius. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Campbell who died in March, 2011. She was also preceded in death by a son, David Daniels in 2006, a step-son Mark Campbell 1990 and her sister Audrey Mason in 2015.She retired from General Electric, where she worked as an executive secretary. Additionally, Shirley was actively involved in Amaranth, Daughters of the Nile, Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine, Royal Order of the Jesterettes and Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Shirley was very active in these organizations and held many leadership positions within them. She loved their teachings as well as the members of each organization. The Order of the Eastern Star was very special to Shirley as she served as Worthy Matron on two separate occasions. Her infectious spirit and caring attitude for her family and friends will be missed as she brought joy to everyone she met. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fort Myers.Shirley is survived by her daughter Marcia Chesley and her husband William ‘Mac’ Chesley of North East, PA., son Leon Daniels and his wife Renee residing in North Chelmsford, MA. , step-son Dana Campbell and his wife Jean of Smyrna DE., grand children, Sarah Daniels, Justin Chesley, Robert Gorka, Erica Campbell and Kelly Campbell; brother Donald Cornelius, David Cornelius and Barbra Buehrer as well as many nieces and nephews.A memorial service celebrating Shirley’s joyous life will be conducted, on a date to be determined, by the Order of the Eastern Star.
