Shirley Anne Roy's Obituary
Shirley Anne Roy, 88 Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023.
Shirley was born May 5, 1935 to Ernest and Yvonne (Sirois) Roy in Old Town, Maine.
Shirley graduated from John Bapst High School in Bangor, Maine. She received her nursing
degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked as a nurse all over the country and
even the world. As a part of the Peace Corps she practiced nursing in Haiti and Algeria.
Shirley continued to be a world traveler after that. She combined her love of travel and the
ocean by becoming a certified Advanced Open Water Diver, diving in many exotic places. Her other
hobbies included sailing and snow skiing. She lived a very active life.
Shirley is preceded in passing by her parents, sister Jeanne Dupuis and her husband Ben Dupuis,
Linwood Roy and his wife Betty (Lagasse) Roy, and sister Cecil MacDaniel and her husband Wesley
MacDaniel.
Shirley leaves her loving memory with her many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces,
cousins, and her very dear close friend Paul Meideros.
Shirley's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of her final
arrangements. At this time there are no services scheduled
