Shirley Krumme Wayne's Obituary
Shirley K. Wayne, 72, of Fort Myers, FL died July 27, 2015 at Hope Hospice after a long battle with cancer.She was born on September 30, 1942 in Elmhurst, IL to Leo & Ruth Krumme and had a sister, Sandra. She married, Robert Humbeutel in 1961. She had 2 children, Rob and Debbie. She lived part of her life in Crystal Lake, IL until 1980 when she moved to Fort Myers, FL.She retired from Brandywine Condominium Association after many years as the Office Manager.She volunteered at St. Michael Lutheran Church as wedding coordinator, helped with mailings, sent anniversary cards to members and was a member of the Board of Fellowship. She also attended Pastor’s bible study on Sunday mornings.She is survived by her son, Rob (Shelly) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, her daughter Debbie Hake (Jake) of Fort Myers. Her grandchildren, Sara and Jack. Her sister, Sandra Betts (Bob) of Highland Park, IL. Her nieces Stacey (Jon) Vander Heide of Romeoville, IL and Krista Betts of Milwaukee, WI. She was also survived by her dear friend, Art Baker, who was so faithfully by her side. Shirley had many other friends that she so dearly loved, especially her best friend of 60 plus years, Shirley Bianco, whom she cherished from the bottom of her heart.She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Bernie Christianson.Her memorial service will be held at St. Michael Lutheran Church, Fort Myers, FL, on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 with a luncheon to follow.In lieu of flowers, Shirley requested donations be made to: St. Michael Lutheran Church (Sonshine Fund), Hope Hospice or Animal Refuge Center.Those who wish to offer condolences, share a story or leave a tribute to Shirley should visit her memorial webpage at www.fortmyersmemorial.com and sign the guestbook.
