Sonja Loerita Webber's Obituary
Sonja Loerita Webber, 81 was born in Gallatin, TN, Dec. 2nd, 1939 and passed away February 16th, 2021 in Fort Myers, FL. A constant source of strength to her family, throughout her life she was a devoted daughter, wife and mother. She attended Gallatin Senior High School and was the school’s first 4-year varsity graduate from their girls’ basketball team. Her interest in sports would last throughout her life as a competitive tennis player and participating in racquetball, golf, and bocce ball leagues. Brought up in the Methodist Church she was an active member at First United Methodist Church in Gallatin and Fort Myers as well as Cypress Lake Methodist in Fort Myers. She sang in the choir, was a youth group volunteer and started two puppet ministries for the children and youth groups. She also spent many years volunteering at the Children’s Hospital with one of her favorite charities “Flipping Out for Kids”. She was a member at the Forest Country Club where she resided until her passing. She is survived by her husband, Henry Earl Webber, III whom she was married to for 59 years. Her four daughters, Margaret Bickford, Lacy Taylor, Helen Ventura and Beth Webber. Son-in-laws John Bickford, Mark Taylor and Nelson Ventura. Grandchildren Grant and Sarah Bickford, Rachel Bickford, Josie, Mark and Andy Taylor, Vaden and David Ventura. Great granddaughter Lilybet Bickford.
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated 2:00 PM, at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church, 8570 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 PM until the service time at the church. Entombment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Myers, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cypress Lake United Methodist Church, Hope Hospice Fort Myers or a charity of your choice in her name.
