Stephen John Gdovin's Obituary
Stephen John Gdovin, 82, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 1996, formerly of California passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born August 2, 1940 in Scranton, PA to the late Stephen J. and Mary (nee Haikes) Gdovin, Sr.
Stephen was a proud United States Air Force retired veteran serving for 22 years. He was a lifelong model railroad enthusiast and a member of Scale Rails of Southwest Florida.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gayle Gdovin of Fort Myers, FL; two children, Stephen J. Gdovin, III of Oregon and Michelle L. Papp (Patrick) of Cape Coral, FL; one brother, Robert Gdovin (Angie) of Colorado; three adored grandchildren, Lauren, Jordan and Matthew; brother-in-law, Michael Vaughn (Doreen) brother-in-law, James Schrimmel (Lynn) as well as many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2022 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 5632 Sunrise Drive, Fort Myers, FL. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery inside the Meditation Garden where full Military Honors will be presented by the United States Air Force.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Fort Myers, FL.
