Stephen Louis Grant's Obituary
Stephen Louis Grant of Fort Myers, Florida passed away suddenly due to a tragic accident on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. He was 73 years old.
Mr. Grant was born in Westport, Indiana on November 4, 1947, the proud son to Pearl (DeHart) and Melvin Grant. He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served in combat operations during the Vietnam War. Stephen retired from the Indianapolis Water Company in 1999 where he had worked as a civil engineer. He enjoyed photography, fishing and golf and used his spare time volunteering to help fellow veterans through support and service organizations. Of greatest importance in his life, however, was being the loving father to Jennifer Stacy (Bob) and Kimberly Grant (fiance, Greg Price) whom he leaves behind to cherish his loving memory. Also surviving is his grandson, Patrick Nelson.
A Funeral Service for Stephen will be celebrated by Pastor David L. Goins at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Guests will be received for Visitation for an hour preceding this ceremony beginning at 10:00 am also inside the funeral home Chapel. At the conclusion of these services family and friends will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Stephen will be laid to rest inside the Mausoleum located at the Field of Honor after the conclusion of Military Honors provided by the U.S. Army.

In lieu of flowers, the family instead suggests a contribution in memory of Stephen be made to his favorite charity, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Unmet Needs Program.
