Steven Chasteen's Obituary
Steven Chasteen passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday October 2nd, 2024 in Florida. He was originally from Berea, Kentucky and had been a Florida resident for 7 years.
Steven was a music lover through and through and played guitar in a band for many years. He enjoyed playing golf as well. Steven was a certified HVAC Technician, and when he found time away from work he loved traveling with his wife Sonja. He had never left the United States until they met, then making many trips to South Africa and Europe. He was a loving son, husband, brother, father and papaw.
Steven leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Sonja Chasteen; children Chelsea Lovelace (Justin) and Aaron Chasteen (Shawna); his mother Betty Carol White (Larry);grandchildren Kylee and Aubree Ashcraft, Paislee and Brynlee Lovelace, Elizabeth, Ezekiel, and Elaina Chasteen; his brother Jason Chasteen (Anita); sisters Allison Chasteen, Kimberly Lovett, Tammy Carpenter (Robbie) and Stacey Edwards (Matt); and stepmother Rebecca Chasteen. He also leaves behind his mother in law Marianna Bennebroek (Paul); father in law Marc Gevaerts (Rita); sister in law Linda Gevaerts (Wilfried); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his father Donnie Chasteen; his grandparents Miley and Myrtle Johnson, Virgil and Thelma Powell Chasteen; and an uncle Gilbert Chasteen. He will also be missed by his dog Lucy Mae and cat Harvey.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date in Kentucky to celebrate Steven’s life.
