Steven "Steve" Newcomb's Obituary
Steven "Steve" Newcomb, a cherished husband, dedicated engineer, and vibrant adventurer, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, at the age of 80, at home in Fort Myers, Florida. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 22, 1944, Steve lived a full and spirited life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, camaraderie, and boundless curiosity.
Steve was a natural-born engineer, his career took him across the globe, where he applied his skills with both precision and passion. Yet, it was his personal pursuits that truly defined him. An avid cyclist, skier, and triathlete, Steve's love for physical challenge saw him participating in the Boston Marathon and numerous triathlons. His travels with his travels with his wife, Jean Ann, were not merely journeys but a tapestry of memories with family and friends, as he embraced each destination with a sense of adventure.
Steve is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jean Ann Newcomb; brother, David Newcomb (Maria); stepchildren, Andrew Songer and Julie Hengle (Tim); and four grandchildren Abigail, Audrey Songer and Troy, and Kyle Hengle.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Clayton and Molly Newcomb.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
A celebration of life will be held later in the summer.
