Stewart "Jay" Calderwood's Obituary
Stewart Jay Calderwood, known by some as “Jay”, of Ft Myers, FL and formerly of Hopkinton, IA, died of cancer on May 31 at Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, FL. He was 65 years old.Stewart was born in Traer, IA on January 12, 1954, son of Arthur James and Mary “Irene” Carran Calderwood. He graduated from North Tama High School in Traer and attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, IA. He lived in Traer for many more years before moving to Hopkinton, IA, then moved to the Ft Myers area in 2005.Stewart married Nancy E. Perrin on October 18, 1979, they divorced 25 years later. On September 3, 2010 he married Sharon K. Isaacson, they lived happily in the Ft Myers area and enjoyed many things together including boating, camping, travelling, and attending Nascar races. He was employed at Jet Aircraft Maintenance as a master mechanic.Stewart (“Jay”) is survived by his devoted wife Sharon; daughter Michelle Sloyer and grandson Riley Sloyer of Waterloo, IA; sister Mary Jean (George) Nicholas of Waterloo, IA; brothers Art (Nancy) Calderwood of Traer, IA and John (Pam) Calderwood of Aplington, IA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.There will be no funeral services per his request.
