Tried to call Stew today and was sorry to learn he passed Stew and I started in the furniture business with the Simmons Company. Stew was a great guy who loved his family and Wished that zI had another round with the jokester of them all. RIP our Hoosier brother Fred EdwardsSt PeterburgBeach
Stewart was my favorite client of all times for so many different reasons….but one of the things that I will always remember and that was feeling how I wish I could be part of a family like the Matters. No matter how many times I would be in the office with Stewart, Shirley and Gary,…at least a couple of calls would come through from one of the "boys" and there always was such joy on Stewart's face when he picked up the phone just to say hello…could be business, but there always was a joke, some laughter and lots of love between the family. How exceptional!
We never got the honor to meet the late Stewart Waddell, however he left a beautiful legacy; 5 handsome, successful sons to continue his legacy. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family. Love, The Messina Family

We will never forget the great times we had with your father in Fort Wayne and Fort Myers. He was an amazing and unforgettable man and every day was New Year's Eve. He was the most fun loving man we had ever met and he would do anything to help a friend. He lived life to the fullest. He is the last of the group from Fort Wayne – John and Lou Sinks, Jackie and Tom (still living) Foelber and Shirley and Stew – what a group! John, Tom, Stewart, Dave, Gary and PamPapa Matter had an amazing life surrounded by an amazing family!!! He was truly an extraordinary man and I am so proud to have had him apart of my life!! He will always be in my heart with so many memories of the great times we shared as a family!! I will never forget the impression he has made on my life and the lives of my children.
