Susan F. Denardo's Obituary
Susan F. Denardo, 73, a resident of Fort Meyers, FL, since 2020, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 10, 1950, in Buffalo, NY, to the late Adam and Shirley (nee Adrian) Surowiec.
Sue graduated from Williamsville High School in 1968. She married Andrew Denardo in 1970, and in 1990, the family (which now included four children) moved to Westfield, MA, where Sue worked at Westfield Bank for over 25 years. Affectionately known as “Flo” to her family, Sue enjoyed many hobbies such as sewing, painting with watercolor, and was an avid reader who was always the first to finish the book in her book club. She loved nature and animals, adopting many pets over the years, most recently her adoring pups Molly and Abby. Sue discovered a natural talent for online shopping, which she used to dote on the 9 grandchildren who brought her such joy and pride; if they ever needed something unique, she was the first to find it (and get free shipping!).
Sue is survived by her husband of 53 years, Andrew Denardo of Fort Meyers, FL; four children: Karen West of Westfield, MA; Kathy Roché (Tom) of Roselle Park, NJ; Michael Denardo (Jessica) of Apopka, FL; and Sara Noska (Ron) of Westfield, MA; two sisters: Diane Goraj (Rodney) of Clarence, NY, and Barbara Dunbar (Wayne) of Albany, NY; one brother, Robert Surowiec (Megan) of Alva, FL; and nine grandchildren, Andrew, Evan, Sammie, Phoebe, Gavin, Bennie, Penny, Mattie, and Grady.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
Inurnment will be held privately at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society Relay for Life where her oldest granddaughter Phoebe will be participating in March to honor her Grandma.
