Dear family and friends, When Susan and the family moved to our neighborhood in middle school we were in for a treat for she was certainly no wallflower. So many fond memories revolve around being encouraged and welcomed into the home or on the boat or wherever she happened to be with that "Come on in" atmosphere her folks fostered that makes people know they're valued. With Sue"s (or as some of us called her-Anne"s) humor, creativity, intelligence, energy, and gutsiness, we benefitted from her "Go for it!" outlook. I loved it when she'd dress up in crazy get ups and entertain us with such attention to detail. (For example, the character Laverne that Cher used to do on The Sonny and Cher Show). She and her family hosted a foreign exchange student from Brazil when we were in high school and Suzie was a fantastic "sister" and friend and helped us all to get to know and include Bede (remember her mad volleyball skills?!) Over time we shared tears, we shared cheers, for life can be complicated sometimes when you least expect it. Sam, your strong will and example of friendship and acceptance will live on in my heart as I picture you forever young, whole bodied and enthusiastic about life. The very best of you shines so obviously in the choices your amazing children are making. I thank you for influencing my life. Love Always, Joanna
